2027 Bucket List: 57 Fun Things To Do In 2027

I can’t believe I am already writing a 2027 bucket list.
Last year, I took some time to make a 2026 bucket list, and it honestly made me make the most of 2026. And yes, 2026 was a big one, big sports (World Cup), big milestones (US at 250), big energy. But now it’s time to look ahead again. We are already doing a 2027 bucket list.
Whether you’re building a 2027 bucket list ideas board on Pinterest or just want a 2027 bucket list ideas for adults that isn’t the same old tired clichés, you’re in the right place.
While 2027 doesn’t have quite the same single “everyone’s talking about it” headline event, like 2026, it is still bound to be a remarkable year. In fact, no headlines make for more room to find everyday magic.
There’s plenty on the calendar to build a 2027 bucket list around: a jaw-dropping total solar eclipse, the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, and of course, all the everyday magic of reading awesome fantasy books, trying out fancy recipes, learning new skills, and embracing cozy rituals.
This 2027 bucket list is for everyone keen to make this year count in every way possible, without trying too hard, of course. Because while New Year’s resolutions and goals are important, it would be an absolute shame to make your whole year a self-improvement project. You’ve gotta live a little.
This is a curated list of 57 ideas that will stretch you, comfort you, and even change you. It’s a good mix of big ideas and plenty of everyday activities that you can do without booking a plane ticket.
2027 Bucket List (Things To Do In 2027)
1. Cheer On Team USA at the FIFA Women’s World Cup (Brazil)
This is number 1 because I had so much fun at the 2026 World Cup. Even if you’re not exactly a die-hard soccer fan, the energy of the World Cup must have pulled you in, right? The 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup heads to Brazil, and Team USA will be chasing more history. And the US women’s team is pretty good.
If you can, grab some friends, paint your faces, and join the electric atmosphere of one of the world’s most-watched sporting events in Brazil.
And if a trip to Brazil isn’t in the cards, just watch a match or two from home with friends and enjoy the thrill of the sport.
2. Make a 2027 Playlist
Simply create an empty playlist and name it “2027.” The idea is to build this playlist year-round as you discover new songs. It could be 2027 new releases or old gems you stumble upon in 2027.
Just keep adding to the playlist throughout 2027 without worrying about the genre or whether the songs actually go well together.
By the end of the year, you’ll have a playlist dedicated solely to 2027 and will make for a good nostalgic playlist years later.
3. Start Something Online: A TikTok, a YouTube, a blog, a podcast, or an Etsy Shop
2027 is the year to stop saying “someday” and actually start. Start growing that TikTok account or YouTube, publish your first blog, and list your first Etsy product. We’re living in the digital age, my friend, and you can either stay oblivious, hateful, scared, or embrace it.
Maybe you’ve always wanted to share cozy recipe videos, launch a podcast about wellness, or sell handmade candles on Etsy. 2027 is the year to make it happen.
Just pick one platform, commit for 90 days, and see where it takes you. Who knows? By December, it could be your favorite new hobby or side hustle.
4. Read (or reread) a Fantasy Series You’ve Always Meant to Devour
Sometimes, the best adventures aren’t flights that cost an arm and a leg. Sometimes the best adventures are curled up on the couch with a blanket and a good book.
Romantasy books are having a moment right now, and I am definitely here for it. It is my absolute favorite genre, so it definitely had to make this list.
Even if you’re not exactly someone who reads, fantasy has a way of pulling you in and keeping you hooked for hours on end, so long as you pick the right books.
In 2026, these are the fantasy books I have read/reread and loved:
- The Heartstring Duet by Liz Zander (Crown Me Dead and Crown Me Yours)
- Sins of the Zodiac series by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti (all 3 books: Never Keep, Echo Fort, and Cinder Vale)
- The Between Tides and Thunder by Leena Kazak (a first-time solo read)
- The Captive Prince trilogy (a reread)
- Throne of Glass (a reread, I go back to this one almost every year)
And here is my 2027 reading bucket list:
- Web of Vows and Vengeance by Aria Ashbrook
- The Ascended by Bree Greenwich
5. Take a trip
This could be a solo trip or a trip with your best friend. I am putting this one up here because I think everyone deserves a wholesome trip at least once a year.
Pick somewhere you’ve been meaning to go; it could be Euro Summer, wine tasting in Napa Valley, or a trip to Asia. Whatever floats your boat, pick somewhere, save some money, make an itinerary, and finally go.
And remember to make the most of your trip. Try new food, take hundreds of pictures and videos for the gram, and come home with memories that will last you a lifetime.

6. Start A Morning Routine
If you don’t have a morning routine by now, 2027 is the year to commit to one.
You set the tone of your day in the morning; this makes a morning routine one of those non-negotiables if you want to have your best year yet in 2027.
As someone who has committed to a morning routine over the past year, I find that giving your morning structure makes you more productive, more disciplined, and, in my opinion, happier.
You don’t have to keep the same routine all year round. In fact, it’s better if you don’t. Change with the seasons, and where you’re in life. You can have a Spring morning routine, a Summer morning routine, and so on.
7. Host an Unforgettable 4th of July Celebration
You don’t need a “big anniversary” to have a great Fourth of July.
Cities across the US host parades, fireworks, and community celebrations every year. Whether you go all out with a themed backyard bash or plan a trip to see fireworks somewhere new, make this year’s celebration one to remember.
I love a good excuse to celebrate, and the 4th is definitely a great one.

8. Become a Regular Blood Donor
This one seems less flashy but might be the most important thing you do all year. Donating blood takes less than an hour, but it can literally save lives.
Most people can donate every 8 weeks, so make it a ritual. A simple, powerful way to give back to your community. And a good motivation to stay healthy and fit.
9. Plan a Whole Day Around Every Season
Life can get pretty boring real quick if you don’t make a point of romanticizing it. Whenever we enter a new season, plan a whole day to celebrate it.
For instance, in Fall, you can bake something, wear your new cozy Fall sweater, go on a foliage walk or go apple picking, visit a pumpkin patch, and end the day with hot chocolate.
For Spring, visit a flower market or nursery, buy yourself a small bouquet and keep it somewhere visible, create a spring shelf with flowers and cute little finds, and maybe go berry picking.
The idea is to become embarrassingly enthusiastic about the new season for at least 24 hours.

10. Catch a Broadway Show or Touring Production
There’s something magical about live theatre that no streaming service can even dream of replicating. If you’re near New York, grab tickets for Broadway.
If not, check when touring productions hit your city and make an event of it.
11. Create a 2027 “Memory Jar”
This one is super simple but can be very powerful. Simply keep a jar in your kitchen or on your desk, and every week drop in a little note about something good that happened, big or small.
You can even ask your family members to join in, making it a fun family tradition.
On New Year’s Eve, you can open the jar and have 52 reminders of just how much joy the year brought.
12. Digital Detox At Least Once a Month
Make a point to have a phone-free day at least once every month, if you can make it a whole weekend.
Yes, we rely on our phones and devices for convenience. But I think creating better boundaries will be one of the best things to do in 2027.
Spend the day or the weekend cooking, spending time outdoors, journaling, meditating, or spending quality time with family and friends.

13. Do a Fitness Challenge
There’s a reason these challenges are so popular these days. Sometimes, the easiest way to reset your body and mind is with a set challenge.
Whether it is yoga every day, Couch-to-5k, the 75 hard, the 75 Medium, or a plank challenge, pick one that feels both tough and exciting. By the end, you’ll feel just how impactful being consistent can be.
I tried the 75 Medium recently and absolutely had a blast. And my mentality and overall discipline definitely changed.
If you’re doing a 75 day challenge, whether it’s 75 hard, 75 medium, or 75 soft challenge, I created this Google Sheets 75 day Challenge Tracker to help you stay consistent.
75 Day Challenge Tracker Spreadsheet
A simple 75-day challenge tracker spreadsheet to help you track up to 15 daily habits, reflect weekly, and stay accountable from day 1 to day 75.
14. See a Natural Phenomenon In Real Life
I’d bet there’s one natural phenomenon you’ve always wanted to see..right? 2027 is the year to make it happen.
It could be the Northern Lights, Southern Lights, a meteor shower, cherry blossoms, fireflies, the wildebeest migration in Kenya/Tanzania, or Bioluminescent shores.
It is completely unbeatable to witness the planet doing something magical with your own eyes. And it is exactly the kind of memory that bucket lists are made for.

15. Catch the “Eclipse of the Century” on August 2nd
This isn’t your typical “step outside and squint till your eyes hurt” moment.
The 2027 total solar eclipse will sweep across southern Spain and North Africa, with totality near Luxor, Egypt, lasting an incredible 6 minutes and 22 seconds, the longest total eclipse visible from land until 2114.
Just picture this: you standing in the desert, or on a Mediterranean coastline, as the world goes dark in the middle of the day. Yeah, this will definitely make for a core memory event and a great addition to any bucket list.
If you’re staying stateside, only a partial eclipse will be visible in the US, and only in parts of Maine, so this one is really a trip-planning bucket list item.
It would make for a good excuse to take your first trip to Egypt and see the pyramids or the Agafay Desert.

16. Pick One Anime Series and Watch It Over Months
This isn’t exactly my favorite genre, but it is increasingly growing in popularity, making for a good excuse to give it a try.
Pick a classic like Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, or Sailor Moon, or a modern hit like One Piece or Demon Slayer, and have a blast.
17. Master One Cocktail Perfectly (Your Signature Drink)
Instead of fumbling with different recipes every time guests come over, why not have one drink you can make flawlessly? Maybe it’s a classic mojito, a smoky old-fashioned, or even a non-alcoholic mocktail.
Practice until you can make it with your eyes closed, and you have a little party trick forever.

18. Do Something That Gives You Butterflies
Butterflies in a good way. Not the one brought on by anxiety, danger, or dread.
It could be something as simple as going on a date if you’re single, getting up on a stage, whether to perform or to motivate, traveling somewhere new, or applying for that opportunity that you’ve been meaning to, but procrastinating.
Taking such chances will make you bolder and a little bit easier to become the very best version of yourself.
19. Reconnect with an Old Friend in Person
We all have that one friend we love but haven’t seen in forever. It happens. Sometimes life gets busy, and you barely get to see each other. This is especially true if you live in different parts of the country.
2027 is the year to send the text, set the date, and make it happen.
It could be coffee, a walk, or even a whole weekend trip.

20. Take a Train Trip Across a Scenic Route
There’s something dreamy about train travel. I have been swooning over the slow travel content I have been seeing online.
It is a totally unbeatable feeling to see the landscapes roll by. Try Amtrak’s California Zephyr through the Rockies, Canada’s Rocky Mountaineer, or a European night train.

21. Make a Playlist for Each Season
I know, I know, I already mentioned making a playlist. But that was a 2027 playlist; this bucket list item is more of a seasonal thing.
Music has a way of improving mood that you can’t quite explain, doesn’t it? So you don’t have to limit yourself to a season, make a playlist for every occasion you can think of, like:
- Fall
- Rainy days
- Workout sessions
- Love feels
- Work sessions
- Road trips
- Summer
- Winter
- Dinner parties
- Pain and heartbreak
This is romanticizing your life at its best.
22. Chase the Northern Lights
I know I mentioned seeing a natural phenomenon; this is just more specific. If you’ve never seen the aurora, make 2027 the year.
Head North, Alaska, Canada, or even Iceland if you want to make a trip of it, and watch the sky dance in green and purple ribbons. Get warm and prepare to feel tiny in the best way possible.

23. Save Toward One Big Financial Goal
Money goals don’t seem glamorous, but they are freedom. And exactly what you need to actually make your bucket list a reality.
Whether it’s an emergency fund, saving for a down payment, paying down debt, or saving for a dream trip, make it a concrete plan and start tracking your progress. Little by little, it adds up more than you think.
24. Attend a Live Concert
What’s a bucket list without a live concert?
You can attend a famous concert by Metallica or Harry Styles, or go to a less-famous one for the vibes. If your favorite artist is touring, go to at least one show. Trust me, it will be a lifetime memory.

25. Become Super Knowledgeable About One Topic
Pick something you are interested in and spend 2027 becoming an expert in it. Research, watch YouTube videos, and ask AI about it. Basically, know as much as you can about the subject.
It could be astronomy, World War 2, mythology, philosophy, a language, or just about anything.
26. Stop Complaining for at Least a Month
Easier said than done, right?
But imagine what shifts if you look for solutions instead of venting, or just let the little stuff go. It is like mental decluttering, and honestly, it might change you more than you expect.
Just challenge yourself. No whining, no cursing the world for unplanned surprises, no muttering negativities about people.
27. Host a Cozy Dinner or Game Night
Sometimes the best bucket list is the simplest.
You can even make it a themed dinner party. You can make it a mystery dinner where everyone has to bring a friend you’ve never met, or a cooking challenge where everyone makes the same dish. Or just order some pizza and break out the board games.
Just make it a fun and memorable dinner.

28. Watch the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, Ireland
The Ryder Cup returns to Ireland for the first time since 2006, and this one’s extra special: it’s the 100th anniversary of the very first Ryder Cup. Mark your calendar for September 17-19, 2027, at Adare Manor in County Limerick.
Even if you don’t follow golf closely, the atmosphere of Team USA vs. Team Europe is unlike anything else in the sport.
If tickets or travel aren’t in the cards, host a watch party with friends. It will be just as magical.

29. Learn Basic First Aid or CPR
You never think you’ll need it… until you do. You’ll be grateful for it the moment you do.
It can definitely come in handy and actually help someone in need. Make this one a non-negotiable if you can.
30. Watch a Major Sports Final
NBA Finals, Super Bowl LXI (February 14, 2027), Stanley Cup, or even the MLS or NWSL playoffs. Even if you’re not a superfan, the atmosphere at a championship game is nothing short of contagious and exactly what bucket lists are made for.

31. Go on a Winter Cabin Retreat
Just picture this for a moment. Snow falling outside, a crackling fireplace, mugs of cocoa or mulled wine, and nowhere you have to be. Doesn’t that sound like heaven? Add a good fantasy book, and I wouldn’t want to leave.
Whether you rent a cabin in the mountains or book a tiny Airbnb in the woods, a winter retreat is the perfect reset button and should be a must-try for everyone.

32. Create a Memory Box for 2027
This is a little different from a gratitude jar. Instead of a single piece of paper to appreciate what happened this week, with a memory box, you can save just about anything. It could be concert tickets, cafe receipts, postcards, candid at home, birthday cards, or dried flowers.
At the end of the year, when you’re reflecting on 2027, open the memory box, and you’ll get to relive all the highs and even lows of 2027.
33. Learn a Musical Instrument or One Favorite Song
You don’t have to overplay your hand and try to master the violin. It could be something simpler. Learning to play one song on piano, ukulele, or guitar feels like magic.
There’s something so special about being able to sit down and make music with your own hands. And not to mention, this has major party trick potential.

34. Start Learning a New Language
It has never been easier to learn a new language. Download Duolingo and start learning any language.
I want to learn French, and that’s why this particular idea is on my 2027 bucket list. I am excited and want you guys to join me. It doesn’t have to be French; it would be cool to learn any language you choose.
A new language isn’t just an impressive addition to your resume. It will broaden your mind and your perspective. Not to mention, you’ll be able to talk to the locals when you finally visit that location.
Just show up every day, even for 5 minutes, and by the end of 2027, you’ll know a little bit more of the language than you do right now.
35. Visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site
History, culture, beauty, all in one. From Yellowstone to Machu Picchu to Old Quebec, the list is endless.
Pick one closest to you (or use it as an excuse to travel) and cross it off this year.

36. Do Something Completely Out of the Ordinary for You
The older we become, the more rigid we tend to get, which is an absolute shame.
I used to be so open to listening to new music, but of late, I have noticed a tendency to play the same old music I have liked for years. Of course, it isn’t the worst thing, but still. The excuse “not my thing” is getting old fast, at least for me.
I am challenging you to try to break this particular habit as well. Go camping, try karaoke, take a solo trip, learn something new, or join a running club. It doesn’t have to be a particularly innovative idea, just something you typically wouldn’t do.
37. Do a Massive Home Declutter
Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to let go of what is weighing you down. And a massive home declutter is how you do it. You could even make it part of your Spring cleaning.
Donate clothes you never wear, recycle those old magazines, and clear that “junk drawer.”
The act of physical decluttering will create a mental space that is honestly better than any spa day.

38. Plan a Super Fun Birthday
I am one of those people who make a big deal about my birthday. I love a good excuse to celebrate, and my birthday is one of those days that I go all out.
So, join me in 2027 and plan a really, really fun birthday. Even if you’re someone who normally doesn’t celebrate their birthday, for once, make it a big deal.
Take a trip, throw a wholesome theme party, book a whole photoshoot for the gram, try that experience you’ve always wanted to try, order that cake.
You are only gonna turn this age once, you might as well make a story of it, I know I will.
39. Start a Friendship Tradition
Create a unique tradition that you and your best friend(s) can do every single year. It could be something as a Summer weekend trip, a Halloween party, matching birthday photos, or an annual sleepover.
One thing I have realized as an adult is that it takes a very intentional mindset to maintain friendships. I mean, life gets busy, people fall in love, move cities, switch jobs, and build different routines. It is up to you to make consistent efforts to maintain your friendships.

40. Make Something from Scratch That You Typically Buy
Pick something you typically buy ready-made from the store and learn to make it from scratch. It could be bread, jam, granola, candles, or body scrub.
It is an awesome way to learn a new skill and, most importantly, build your confidence.
41. Find a New Physical Activity You Enjoy
So I have realized I started weight lifting and gave up on finding any other physical activity. And yes, while I enjoy weight lifting, it would be cool to find something else I enjoy.
I am challenging you to do the same. Experiment with different workouts until you find something you absolutely love. Try badminton, swimming, dance classes, yoga, pilates, cycling, hiking, and tennis.
When you find an exercise you can actually enjoy, your whole relationship with fitness will transform, and that’s exactly what we want in 2027.

42. Write Morning Pages for an Entire Month
Pick a month that screams “journaling” to you (I’ll go with any month in the Fall) and sit down and create some morning pages in your journal every morning.
This is a simple enough practice, but it will improve your writing, help you connect with yourself, and, most importantly, declutter your mind.
You might not want to stop after the month is out.

43. Creating a Cozy Reading Nook
You guys know I am a big reader, and anything reading-related almost always makes it to my bucket list. And since I read purely for entertainment, I want to be super comfortable while I do that.
So, if you like reading like yours truly, give that habit a proper home this year. Find a corner, add a comfortable chair, some cool shelves, a warm lamp, and some cozy blankets.
And make it a rule that this particular spot is just for reading and nothing else. No scrolling and definitely no working.
44. Create a Sunday Reset Routine
Resetting on weekends is one of the best hacks for having a productive week.
Take some time to create a Sunday reset routine, complete with some self-care and week prep, such as meal planning.
This is one of the habits I have tried out over the past year, and it has made a big difference in my Monday blues. I still dread Mondays, but it is a little bit easier.

45. Make A New Friend
Yes, I know as an adult, it’s not very easy to make new friends. This is particularly true for introverts. So, make it an actual goal to make at least one new friend in 2027.
Don’t overcomplicate it. Just talk to someone at your gym, or join a book club, talk to your neighbor, and say yes when someone invites you somewhere.
46. Start a Neighborhood Tradition
This is particularly important if you live in the city and don’t get to see much, let alone talk to your neighbors. Ask around and see if anyone is interested in a friendly tradition.
Maybe it is monthly block parties, or seasonal potluck dinners, or a small free library. It doesn’t matter what. Whatever it is, it will bring your community together and make the neighborhood lively.
47. Mentor Someone Younger or Newer in Your Field
Think back at how lost you felt when you were starting out. It doesn’t matter which industry you are in; it will feel amazing to use your experience to make it easier for someone else.
Mentorship isn’t just giving; in fact, it will be surprisingly rewarding and fulfilling for you, too.
48. Visit a Regional Food Festival
Barbecue in the South, lobster in New England, maple in Canada, chili cook-offs out West, food festivals are basically joy wrapped in flavor.
And a wonderful new experience if you’ve never been to one, or to that particular food festival.

49. Create Seasonal Rituals
We tend to move through the seasons, not noticing much. Grinding away, never taking a moment to appreciate the season. Make 2027 feel more intentional by marking the seasons with some awesome seasonal rituals.
Spring picnics, Summer swims, Fall foliage walks, Winter soup nights. These might sound and look so cliché, but traditions like these keep the year from blurring together and feeling unremarkable.

50. See a Film Festival
You don’t have to fly to Sundance (though how much fun would that be?). Actually, the Sundance Film Festival is moving to Boulder, Colorado, from 2027, just a heads up.
Local indie film festivals can be just as exciting.
51. Book a Week at a Wellness Retreat
Sometimes you just need to unplug from everything: cooking, cleaning, errands, work. Book a week at a wellness retreat and relax.
From yoga retreats to spa getaways in the desert or mountains. Make 2027 the year you finally prioritize true rest.

52. Watch a Museum Exhibit You’ve Always Wanted to See in Person
You know that exhibit you’ve seen in ads or read about but never got around to? Make 2027 the year.
Whether it is dinosaurs, fashion, or fine art, seeing it in real life is so much richer than seeing it online.
53. Take Up a New Artistic Hobby
Pottery, painting, woodworking, or even photography. There’s something grounding about working with your hands.
And you’ll end up with a piece of art you made with your hands. Don’t worry about it being “good”. The joy is in creating, not perfecting.

54. Explore Regional Arts or Heritage Festival
From Indigenous celebrations in Canada to folk festivals in the US, these events are rich with music, dance, food, and tradition.
They’re the kind of experiences that stay with you long after the weekend is over.
55. Join or Start a Book Club
I have been meaning to do this forever. In 2027, I am finally going to make it happen.
Ditch the online book forums (though they can be fun), and find a local book club that actually meets in person. And hey, if you can’t find one, this is the perfect opportunity to actually start one.
56. Commit to a Consistent Sleep Schedule
Not the most glamorous on our 2027 bucket list. But honestly, we all, unfortunately, underappreciate just how life-changing quality sleep could be.
Set a bedtime, make your room cozy and dark, and watch just how much better your mornings feel when you stop treating sleep like an afterthought.

57. Quit One Small Toxic Habit
We all have toxic habits we would love to quit. It seems we just never get the right time. In 2027, make time.
It could be eating too much sugar, going to bed late, or badmouthing people. Pick one habit and work on discarding it with all your willpower.
