The Ultimate 2026 Bucket List For A Year of Fun, Growth & Adventure

I can’t believe I am already writing a 2026 bucket list.
2025 was a good year, but I’ll admit it felt like a blur to me. It wasn’t the most fun or remarkable year. The blog demanded attention, and I have been creating some digital products, so it was just a slow year. I was buried in to-do lists, and there was a lot of “maybe next time.”
But I have decided things must be different in 2026. That’s why I am creating this bucket list and already making plans to make 2026 truly unforgettable.
And it is bound to be. 2026 is one of those “big ones” where history, culture, and personal growth can all collide in the best way possible.
I mean, the World Cup is coming to North America, the US is turning 250, and there’s a once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse. This, plus the everyday magic of reading awesome fantasy books, trying out fancy recipes, learning new skills, and embracing cozy rituals, and suddenly 2026 looks like the perfect mix of adventure and grounding.
This 2026 bucket list is for everyone keen to make this year count in every way possible, without trying too hard, of course.
This is a curated list of 59 ideas that will stretch you, comfort you, and even change you.
2026 Bucket List( Things To Do In 2026)
1. Attend a Match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup ( US/Canada/ Mexico)
Even if you’re not exactly a die-hard soccer fan, the energy of the World Cup is bound to something else. The 2026 World Cup is especially historic because it is happening across North America, the first time with 48 teams competing.
So, pick a city, grab some friends, book that trip, paint your faces, and join the electric atmosphere of the world’s most-watched sporting event.
And if you can’t join in a stadium, then just watch a match or two from home and enjoy the thrill of the sport.

2. Start Something Online: A TikTok, a YouTube, a blog, a podcast, or an Etsy Shop
2026 is the year to stop saying “someday” and actually start. Start growing that TikTok account or YouTube, publish your first blog, and list your first Etsy product. We’re living in the digital age, my friend, and you can either stay oblivious, hateful, scared, or embrace it.
Maybe you’ve always wanted to share cozy recipe videos, launch a podcast about wellness, or sell handmade candles on Etsy. 2026 is the year to make it happen. I am finally launching my Etsy shop after years of saying someday. You should definitely start that something too.
Just pick one platform, commit for 90 days, and see where it takes you. Who knows? By December, it could be your favorite new hobby or side hustle.
3. Read ( Or Reread) a Fantasy Series You’ve Always Meant to Devour
Sometimes, the best adventures aren’t flights to faraway countries. Sometimes the best adventures are curled up on the couch with a blanket and a good book.
Fantasy books are having a moment right now, and I am here for it.
Even if you’re not exactly someone who reads, fantasy has a way of pulling you in and keeping you hooked for hours on end, so long as you pick the right books.
In 2025, these are the fantasy books I have read/ reread and loved
- Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas ( It was a reread and I absolutely enjoyed it. I’ll give it 4 stars)
- A Court of Thorns and Roses Series by Sarah J Maas ( Another reread that I absolutely loved just as much as I did the first time. This I give 4.5 stars)
- A Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent ( A first-time read. I enjoyed the first book, but the second was too slow for me.)
And here is my 2026 reading bucket list:
- The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter
- Riftborne by Bree Greenwich and Parker Lennox
- Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard ( A reread)
4. Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday on July 4th in Style
250 years of independence deserve more than a backyard barbecue.
Cities across the US will be hosting parades, fireworks, and tall flotillas to mark the semiquincentennial( and yes, that’s a real word). If you have ever wanted to see the 4th of July on a grand scale, this is your year.

5. Become a Regular Blood Donor
This one seems less flashy but might be the most important thing you do all year. Donating blood takes less than an hour, but it can literally save lives.
Most people can donate every 8 weeks, so make it a ritual. A simple, powerful way to give back to your community. And a good motivation to stay healthy and fit.
6. Catch a Broadway Show or Touring Production
There’s something magical about live theatre that no streaming service can replicate. If you’re near New York, grab tickets for Broadway.
If not, check when touring productions hit your city and make an event of it.
7. Create a 2026 “Memory Jar”
This one is super simple but can be so powerful. Keep a jar in your kitchen or on your desk, and every week drop in a little note about something good that happened, big or small.
You can even ask your family members to join in to make it a fun family tradition.
On New Year’s Eve, you can open the jar and have 52 reminders of just how much joy the year brought.
8. Do a Fitness Challenge
There’s a reason these challenges are so popular these days. Sometimes, the easiest way to reset your body and mind is with a set challenge.
Whether it is yoga every day, Couch-to-5k, the 75 hard, the 75 Medium, or a plank challenge, pick one that feels both tough and exciting. By the end, you’ll feel just how impactful being consistent can be.
9. Catch the Solar Eclipse Magic on August 12th
This isn’t your typical “step outside and squint” moment. The 2026 total solar eclipse will be best seen from Spain, Greenland, and Iceland, which makes for the perfect excuse to plan an unforgettable trip.
Just picture this: you standing in a quiet field, or on a windswept coast, as the world goes dark in the middle of the day. Yeah, this will definitely make for a core memory event.

10. Master One Cocktail Perfectly ( Your signature drink)
Instead of fumbling with different recipes every time guests come over, why not have one drink you can make flawlessly? Maybe it’s a classic mojito, a smoky old-fashioned, or even a non-alcoholic mocktail.
Practice until you can make it with your eyes closed, and you have a little party trick forever.

11. Reconnect with an Old Friend in Person
We all have that one friend we love but haven’t seen in forever. It happens. Sometimes life gets busy, and you barely get to see each other. This is especially true if you live in different parts of the country.
2026 is the year to send the text, set the date, and make it happen.
It could be coffee, a walk, or even a weekend trip.

12. Take a Train Trip Across a Scenic Route
There’s something dreamy about train travel. I have been swooning over the slow travel content I have been seeing online.
It is a totally unbeatable feeling to see the landscapes roll by. Try Amtrak’s California Zephyr through the Rockies, Canada’s Rocky Mountaineer, or a European night train.
13. Make a Playlist for Each Season
Music has a way of improving mood that you can’t quite explain, doesn’t it? And you don’t have to limit yourself to a season, make a playlist for every occasion you can think of, like:
- Fall
- Rainy days
- Workout sessions
- Love feels
- Work sessions
- Road trips
- Summer
- Winter
- Dinner parties
- Love feels
- Pain and heartbreak
This is romanticizing your life at its best.
14. Chase the Northern Lights
If you’ve never seen the aurora, make 2026 the year.
Head North, Alaska, Canada, or even Iceland if you want to make a trip of it, and watch the sky dance in green and purple ribbons. Get warm and prepare to feel tiny in the best way possible.

15. Save Toward One Big Financial Goal
Money goals don’t seem glamorous, but they are freedom.
Whether it’s an emergency fund, saving for a down payment, paying down debt, or saving for a dream trip, make it a concrete plan and start tracking your progress. Little by little, it adds up more than you think.
16. Stop Complaining for at Least a Month
Easier said than done, right? But imagine what shifts if you look for solutions instead of venting, or just let the little stuff go. It is like mental decluttering, and honestly, it might change you more than you expect.
Just challenge yourself. No whining, no cursing the world for unplanned surprises, no muttering negativities about people.

17. Host a Cozy Dinner or Game Night
Sometimes the best bucket list is the simplest. You can even make it a themed dinner party. You can make it a mystery dinner where everyone has to bring a friend you’ve never met, or a cooking challenge where everyone makes the same dish. Or just order some pizza and break out the board games.
Just make it a fun and memorable dinner.
18. Attend the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium
I know I have already mentioned the World Cup in this 2026 bucket list. But the final is entirely something else. Even if you’re not in New Jersey, you’ll want to mark July 19, 2026, on your calendar.
Being at the final match of the World Cup is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime energy people talk about for decades.
If tickets are impossible, host a watch party with friends. It will be just as magical.
19. Winter Olympics in Milan &Cortina, Italy ( February)
The Olympics always bring magic, but Winter in the Italian Alps? That’s a whole different level. Whether you snag tickets for figure skating, skiing, or just wander the streets of Milan soaking in the energy, it’s definitely a bucket list moment.
And you can mix sports with pasta, wine, and the snowy mountain views.

20. Learn Basic First Aid or CPR
You never think you’ll need it…until you do. You’ll be grateful for it the moment it comes in handy and actually helps someone. Make this one a non-negotiable if you can.
21. Watch a Major Sports Final
I know I already mentioned the World Cup final in this 2026 bucket list. But there are plenty more major sports finals that could be super fun. Even if you’re not a superfan, the atmosphere at a championship game is nothing short of contagious.
NBA finals, Super Bowl, Stanley Cup, or even the MLS or NWL playoffs. The energy is electric.

22. Go on a Winter Cabin Retreat
Just picture this for a moment. Snow falling outside, a crackling fireplace, mugs of cocoa or mulled wine, and nowhere you have to be. Doesn’t that sound like heaven? Add a good fantasy book, and I wouldn’t want to leave.
Whether you rent a cabin in the mountains or book a tiny Airbnb in the woods, a winter retreat is the perfect reset button.
23. Learn a Musical Instrument or One Favorite Song
You don’t have to overplay your hand and try to master the violin. It could be something simpler. Learning to play one song on piano, ukulele, or guitar feels like magic.
There’s something so special about being able to sit down and make music with your own hands. And not to mention, this has major party trick potential.
24. Visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site
History, culture, beauty, all in one. From Yellowstone to Machu Picchu to Old Quebec, the list is endless.
Pick one closest to you( or use it as an excuse to travel) and cross it off this year.

25. Do a Massive Home Declutter
Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to let go of what is weighing you down. And a massive home declutter is how you do it. You could even make it part of your Spring cleaning.
Donate clothes you never wear, recycle those old magazines, and clear that “junk drawer.”
The act of physical decluttering will create a mental space that is honestly better than any spa day.
26. See a Big Concert By a Lifetime Favorite Artist
Nothing hits quite like hearing the opening notes of that song live. It is simply magical. If one of your favorites is touring in 2026, don’t overthink it. Just do it. You’ll remember it forever, making it worth that all-so pricey ticket.
27. Write Morning Pages for an Entire Month
Pick a month that screams “journaling” to you ( I’ll go with any month in the Fall) and sit down and create some morning pages in your journal every morning.
This is a simple enough practice, but it will improve your writing, connect you to yourself, and most importantly, declutter your mind.
You might not want to stop after the month is out.

28. Try a Brand New Fitness Class Every Quarter
Trying out new fitness classes makes exercising fun instead of boring.
Boxing, aerial yoga, climbing, or maybe even dance cardio. Of course, you can do this in addition to your usual weight-lifting exercises. We don’t want to mess with your glutes growth.
29. Start a Neighborhood Tradition
This is particularly important if you live in the city and don’t get to see much, let alone talk to your neighbors. Ask around and see if anyone is interested in a friendly tradition.
Maybe it is monthly block parties, or seasonal potluck dinners, or a small free library. It doesn’t matter what. Whatever it is, it will bring your community together and make the neighborhood lively.
30. Redecorate One Room with a New Theme
Sometimes the most significant mood boost comes from freshening up your space. It doesn’t have to be expensive. It could be a new paint color, cozy lighting, or a few thrifted finds. Small, meaningful changes can totally change a room’s vibe.
Go for something that feels like you at this moment in life. It could be cabin-cozy, bold and colorful, or minimalist with that millennial grey vibe.

31. Take an Online Class that “Stretches” You
Go for something you’ve always said “ I’m not that type of person” about. It could be coding, improv, design, or even hip-hop dance.
Online classes make it low-pressure, but the growth you’ll feel? Huge.
If you prefer, you can take classes at your local community college. It could be ancient philosophy or winemaking. In-person courses give you a chance to meet new people and make friends, which can be tricky as an adult.
32. Fly to a Country You’ve Never Been To
No matter how close or far, stepping off a plane into someplace brand new is always thrilling. It doesn’t have to be Paris; even a short hop to Mexico or Canada( if you’ve never been) can spark new energy for life.
You can make it a family affair or a solo trip.

33. Mentor Someone Younger or Newer in Your Field
Think back at how lost you felt when you were starting out. It doesn’t matter which industry you are in; it will feel amazing to use your experience to make it easier for someone else.
Mentorship isn’t just giving; in fact, it will be surprisingly rewarding and fulfilling for you, too.
34. Visit a Regional Food Festival
Barbecue in the South, lobster in New England, maple in Canada, chili cook-offs out West, food festivals are basically joy wrapped in flavor. And a wonderful new experience if you’ve never been to one, or to that particular food festival.
35. Create Seasonal Rituals
We tend to move through the seasons, not noticing much. Grinding away, never taking a moment to appreciate the season. Make 2026 feel more intentional by marking the seasons with some awesome seasonal rituals.
Spring picnics, Summer swims, Fall foliage walks, Winter soup nights. These might sound and look so cliché, but traditions like these keep the year from blurring together and feeling unremarkable.

36. Go to the X Games ( Summer or Winter)
High-flying tricks, wild energy, and a crowd buzzing with adrenaline. Is there something more energizing?
Even if extreme sports aren’t exactly your thing, the X Games are just plain fun to watch live.
37. Journal Daily
Make 2026 the year you make journaling part of your everyday routine. And don’t try to make it pages and pages, just a few sentences will do.
A line about your mood, a gratitude note, or a funny thing that happened is all it takes to keep the routine going and fun.
By December, you’ll have a time capsule of your year that is more honest than any photo album.

38. See a Film Festival
You don’t have to fly to Sundance ( though how much fun would that be?). Local indie film festivals can be just as exciting.
39. Try Something Adventurous
Step out of your comfort zone with an adrenaline rush: zip lining, sky diving, or scuba diving. That nervous, exciting energy is absolutely unbeatable.
And you don’t have to go all in with extremes; even indoor rock climbing or surfing lessons count. The point is to do something that makes your heart race.
40. Book a Week at a Wellness Retreat
Sometimes you just need to unplug from everything: cooking, cleaning, errands, work. Book a week at a wellness retreat and relax.
From yoga retreats to spa getaways in the desert or mountains. Make 2026 the year you finally prioritize true rest.

41. Live like a Local for a Week in your Dream City
Instead of rushing through tourist attractions and barely getting to enjoy yourself, slow down and actually live somewhere new.
Stay in a neighborhood Airbnb, shop at local markets, ride the buses or trains, and eat where the locals eat. This is the best way to feel a city’s heartbeat.
42. Attend the World Baseball Classic ( March 2026)
Another sports event on our 2026 bucket list. Baseball fans, this is your year. The World Baseball Classic brings together teams from around the world, so it is a major event, and the passion is absolutely off the charts.
Even if you’re not obsessed with the stats, the energy of national pride in the stands is unforgettable.
43. Plant a Small Garden or Grow Herbs Indoors
Fresh basil for pasta, mint for your drinks, rosemary by the window. Having something green you grew yourself is ridiculously satisfying.
If you don’t have a yard, even a few pots on a balcony or sunny window is great.
I’ve never done this, but 2026 seems like a good year to start growing something.

44. Watch a Museum Exhibit You’ve Always Wanted to See in Person
You know that exhibit you’ve seen in ads or read about but never got around to? Make 2026 the year.
Whether it is dinosaurs, fashion, or fine art, seeing it in real life is so much richer than seeing it online.
45. Learn Basic Home Repair/ Car Maintenance Skills
There’s something super fulfilling about being able to fix something with your own hands instead of always calling someone else to help.
And yes, it might sound intimidating at first, but it gets better when you actually try it.
Let 2026 end with you feeling a little more self-sufficient.
46. Volunteer Regularly
Pick a cause that matters to you, animals, kids, or the environment, and make it part of your month. Even a few hours can have a ripple effect.
Plus, it is a great way to meet like-minded people in your community.
Volunteering is a great way to tap into your empathetic self.
47. Take Up a New Artistic Hobby
Pottery, painting, woodworking, or even photography. There’s something grounding about working with your hands.
And you’ll end up with a piece of art you made with your hands. Don’t worry about it being “good”. The joy is in creating, not perfecting.

48. Explore Regional Arts or Heritage Festival
From Indigenous celebrations in Canada to folk festivals in the US, these events are rich with music, dance, food, and tradition.
They’re the kind of experiences that stay with you long after the weekend is over.
49. Join or Start a Book Club
I have been meaning to do this in forever. In 2026, I am finally going to make it happen.
Ditch the online book forums(though they can be fun), and find a local book club that actually meets in person. And hey, if you can’t find one, this is the perfect opportunity to actually start one.
50. Learn to Forage for Wild Edibles
This is the perfect opportunity to take a foraging class and discover what’s been growing around you all this time.
This is how to connect with our primal gatherer instincts. Not to mention, this could turn out to be a life-saving skill in the future.
51. Commit to a Consistent Sleep Schedule
Not the most glamorous on our 2026 bucket list. But honestly, better sleep could be life-changing.
Set a bedtime, make your room cozy and dark, and watch just how much better your mornings feel when you stop treating sleep like an afterthought.

52. Take a Multi-day Hiking Trip
A weekend in the woods, carrying everything you need on your back, has a way of stripping life down to the essentials. Whether it’s hut-to-hut hiking in Europe, the Appalachian Trail, or Canada’s Banff trails, you’ll come back tired, proud, and with a lifetime of core memories.
You don’t even have to complicate it; just look up the nearest long-distance hikes and make plans to walk them with a friend.
53. See Fireworks in a New City or Country
Fireworks at home are fine. But seeing them explode over a skyline you’ve never experienced before? Unforgettable.
Plan a trip around a major holiday. Maybe New Year’s in another country or the 4th is a new US city, and let yourself experience magic.
54. Learn a New Language to Conversational Level
You don’t have to be fluent. Even learning enough to order food, ask directions, and chat a little bit can make travelling more fun.
And there are so many resources online to help. It has never been easier to learn a new language.
55. Spend One Weekend a Month Totally Offline
Like I said, we live in the digital age. Unfortunately, this means we are always online, scrolling and dealing with endless notifications.
A digital detox has never been more important.
Use this opportunity to deal with real life: books, cooking, nature, and conversations.

56. Quit One Small Toxic Habit
We all have toxic habits we would love to quit. It seems we just never get the right time. In 2026, make time.
It could be eating too much sugar, going to bed late, or badmouthing people. Pick one habit and work on discarding it with all your willpower.
57. Master One Party Trick
It doesn’t have to be wild. Maybe it’s a quick card trick, juggling, or even saber-opening a bottle of champagne( safely, of course). Whatever it is, you’ll love having a “ta-da” moment ready to go when the vibes call for it.
58. Learn How to Say No without Guilt
This one will be harder than it sounds, especially if you’re someone who hates disappointing people.
However, you have to do it. The only way you have a remarkable 2026 is to learn how to set boundaries and say no to things and people that drain you.
And saying no when you want to is the only way you’ll have enough time to tackle your 2026 bucket list.
59. End 2026 with a Cozy Reflection Ritual.
Before the year slips away, take some time to reflect. Light candles, make tea, and write down everything you actually did this year, big adventures and the small joys.
This is a good way to close 2026 beautifully.
